With a charge of spousal abuse, an army recruiter said I cannot join the army with this charge. Will another branch take me?

I am trying to enter into the armed forces but I recently served 30 days for a charge of spousal abuse. Even though I never touched my wife; her word against mine; I agreed to the charge in order to save our marriage. My wife and I are separated with 2 children. I was hoping if I was to better myself, she my see things differently and we could be a family again. If not, I would still like to serve my country. Is this possible?

This question is no longer open to new answers.

The problem is likely the fact that your conviction was reported on your record as a domestic violence charge. Now that you are apart from your spouse and trying to enlist, go back to the prosecutor and see if he or she may be willing to do a "motion to reconsider" your plea of guilty. If the prosecutor is willing, you may be able to back before the court and have your charge reduced to a non-DV offense, which may make it possible for you to enlist. You may still have to obtain a waiver.
