Information: Do you love moisturizing and luxurious soaps made with exotic fragrances? Making your own soap gives you the opportunity to make all natural bar soaps that will leave your skin cleansed and silky-smooth. Using vegetable oils, fragrance and essential oils, botanicals, and other additives, you'll learn recipes to make your own bars, and discover the best equipment and ingredients to work with. We'll create batches of both spearmint soap, and chamomile and neroli soap, and also experiment with your favorite scents, colors, herbs, and spices. You'll leave with handouts, recipes, and sources for soap-making supplies. Please wear a long sleeve shirt that may get dirty, and bring safety goggles and latex gloves. Please note: this class will use lye, which is a corrosive material. A $20 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.Course Code: G227 Sec. 01: 2 Mondays, 6:30-9:00 pm.
